If you don’t want to hear 4 heartbreaking myths about education, KEEP SCROLLING
🍏Providing high-quality education is not a privilege but a necessity. Differences in education between different areas will lead to systemic barriers that have detrimental effects on both students, their families & community.
🍏 It’s important to recognize that teachers are not the sole educators of children; communities, families, and friends also play a crucial role in shaping a child’s learning. Collaboration between schools, families, and communities is key to ensuring that every child receives a well-rounded education.
🍏Let’s face it, LIFE IS LIFING! The same way adults are having a hard time emotionally, students are having a hard time as well. Students who feel emotionally supported are more likely to succeed academically. By demonstrating care and having proper wellness support in place, teachers and administrators can help students thrive academically.
🍏 Foster positive relationships with parents as they can be valuable allies. Avoid jumping to conclusions about a child’s behavior in class reflecting their parents’ level of care. You can’t control if a parent answers your calls, texts or email but as an educator you should try to communicate regardless. BUILD more RELATIONSHIPS, parents will answer! Building strong connections with families is key to ensuring a supportive environment for the child’s development
